# OCI blob

> Tag 1: the client asks the server for a blob of an image the server holds for it, by digest; the server answers with the bytes in zero or more channel responses and the channel response finish; a finish with nothing before it states that the server does not hold the digest for the client.

Canonical: https://protocol.diverge.network/2.3.0/endpoints/images-oci/client/oci-blob/
Specification revision: 2.3.0

The client opens this channel to pull a blob the server holds for it:
a config or a layer, by digest.

- **The request.** The tag byte `1` followed by the digest as JSON.
  [Request](/2.3.0/endpoints/images-oci/client/oci-blob/request/) states its form.
- **The response.** The bytes of the blob in zero or more channel
responses and the channel response finish.
  [Response](/2.3.0/endpoints/images-oci/client/oci-blob/response/) states the sequence.
- **Held for the client.** The server answers the blob only of an
image it holds for the client, as [images::oci](/2.3.0/endpoints/images-oci/)
states. A digest it does not hold for the client is answered with
the channel response finish and nothing before it.
