Request
The payload is the tag byte 18 followed by the name of the image as a varint length and UTF-8 bytes, in the postcard wire format.
The payload of the request is the tag byte followed by the request in the postcard wire format, as the postcard reading of Notation provides:
[18][name_len: varint][name: utf8 …]
name. The name of the image, UTF-8, preceded by its byte length as a varint. It is thenameof an image in the client’s images::list listing.- Bytes after the request. A server ignores every byte that
follows the
namefield. A request whose payload extends past the request is not malformed. - Malformed. A payload with no byte, a payload whose first byte
is not
18, and a payload whose bytes after the tag do not decode as the request are malformed. Endpoints states how a server answers a request it cannot read.
The request is defined by diverge-sdk-rs/src/provider/endpoints/images/delete/client/request/frame.rs:
//! What a client's request frame carries for an image deletion.
use serde::{Deserialize, Serialize};
use crate::wire::decode::Decode;
use crate::wire::encode::{Encode, Writer};
/// Destroy an image the caller built.
///
/// # A name, and the same access model as everything else
///
/// The one field is an
/// [`Image::name`](crate::provider::endpoints::images::list::server::response::Image::name)
/// from a listing. A caller cannot delete an image it did not build,
/// and cannot probe for what exists by deleting and reading the
/// error — the provider resolves a name against the caller that
/// built it, and nothing else.
///
/// # It is not undoable and there is no confirmation
///
/// One frame destroys the image. Confirmation belongs where a person
/// is, which is above this. A caller that wants the image again
/// builds it again.
///
/// # An image in use is refused
///
/// An image a running container of the caller runs is never deleted:
/// a provider answers
/// [`InUse`](crate::provider::endpoints::images::delete::server::response::Frame::InUse)
/// and changes nothing. A caller that wants it gone stops the
/// container first and asks again.
